Euchologii Sinaitici Pars Nova - monasterii sanctae Catharinae codex slav. NF 1

This fourth volume of the series “Glagolitica Sinaitica” contains the printed version of the 28 leaves of the Sinaitic Euchologium discovered in 1975 (Sin. slav. 37 & RNB, Glag. 3) with a detailed introduction and investigation section, multispectral images of all poorly preserved folia, colour images of the binding cover, the Cyrillic transliteration of the text, and the annotated Greek parallels to their first part (ff. 1-12).

In the introduction to the investigation section, the fragment is first characterized, and then the literature published so far on the topic and the course of the edition project are discussed. The following five chapters are intended primarily to close gaps in the previous analysis of the manuscript. This is served by a detailed codicological-palaeographic and brief graphematic description, followed by four tables in which the palaeographic and graphematic material is prepared for relevant comparisons. Further scientific articles on multispectral imaging and material chemistry are intended to supplement them and place the future research of the monument on an interdisciplinary basis.

As the most important result of the analyses, it should be noted that the Euchologium, both by its external features and in content, was certainly created on Sinai or at least received its final form there.
