This is the masterpiece of the short prose of the legendary Swiss writer Robert Walser (1878 - 1956), a writer whom the modern world rediscovers today as the "missing link" between surrealism and Franz Kafka. In fact, during his lifetime Walser was better known than Kafka himself or Walter Benjamin - authors who admired him and on whom this book left its mark.

"The Walk" - these are sparkling and above all cheerful garlands of words, which disprove our feeling that we have read so much already that it is impossible to be surprised by someone's style and prose. On the contrary, it is possible, and Walser makes it an extremely pleasant experience! The book presents us with a warm, but also over-ironic view of everything that a seemingly wandering person, endowed with a sense for the microscopic and the ability to see the vast, hidden behind it, encounters along his way.

Walser himself leads a lonely and fragile existence, on the brink of light and darkness, which after years in a mental sanatorium defeats him and he dies suddenly during a winter walk on Christmas. Diagnosed as schizophrenic already in 1933, he nevertheless leaves us a brilliant selection of experiences, as though barely touched by words, writes the British daily The Guardian on the occasion of the English translation of "The Walk".

Robert Walser is the author of several novels, short prose and delightful, recently deciphered microscripts - miniature stories written with letters one millimeter high, on the backs of visiting cards, scraps of labels, torn strips from restaurant menus and notices... the recipe of the book may be the subject of the content itself. The Bulgarian edition is accompanied by a short, but thunderous text by the Italian Giorgio Agamben, one of the most acclaimed political thinkers today.
