Министерство на времето
Описание
In the near future, a young civil servant is offered a new position with a dream salary, and soon learns what the project involves. A newly created secret ministry in the government is recruiting “settlers” from different historical periods.
Her task is to serve as a “guide” – to live together with the settler known as Subject 1847, or Second Captain Graham Gore, to help him adapt and to keep watch over him. From a historical standpoint, Gore died during a doomed expedition to the Arctic, which began in 1845, and he is therefore somewhat baffled by having to live with an unmarried woman who regularly wears skirts above the knee and uses strange notions such as “washing machine,” “Spotify,” and “the collapse of the British Empire.” Yet thanks to his thirst for discovery and the support of several charming but chaotic settlers, he soon adapts to this new situation.
Over the following year, what his guide initially saw as a very awkward coexistence grows into something much deeper. By the time the true purpose of the Ministry’s project is revealed, she has fallen passionately in love with her settler, with unforeseen consequences – both for the two of them, and for the very fabric of the universe and time…
