Vasil Madolev was born on 21.08.1942 in Belitsa, Blagoevgrad region. He completed his higher education at Sofia University "Kl. Ohridski" - specialty pedagogy, specialization psychology. He was a teacher for six years, from 1977 he is an assistant at the Higher Pedagogical Institute (now South-West University "N. Rilski") - Blagoevgrad; in 1984 he acquired the scientific degree Doctor in Psychology, and in 2006 - the degree Doctor of Psychological Sciences. Since 1988 he is an associate professor, and in 2007 he was awarded the title Professor in Psychology.

He has held the administrative positions of head of the "Psychology" department and deputy dean of the Faculty of Law and History. Repeatedly elected member of the Faculty Council and the Academic Council.

He is the author of 11 monographs and textbooks, and of numerous publications in collections and national periodicals.

His latest monograph is "Psychology of Nonverbal Communication". The following evaluations illustrate the value of this work.
