The series "Nightmare Chronicles" includes stories by one of the founders of the horror genre, H.P. Lovecraft.

The stories include:

• "Ashes" - A story about a mad scientist who creates a formula aimed at ending wars, but is it also an opportunity for total domination over humanity by the one who possesses it.
• "The Curse of Yig" - While researching various legends in 1925, a researcher discovers that although most of the residents of Oklahoma are unwilling to talk about the subject, there is a rumor that Dr. McNeil keeps a terrible secret in the asylum in Guthrie.
• "The Hound" - Two friends living in England have an unusual interest in robbing and desecrating graves. One such evening they come across a strange artifact.
• "The Devourer of Ghosts" - A man sets off alone on a journey from Mayfair to Glendel, Maine, on foot, but must cross a dangerous forest along the way. Soon he is caught in a storm, and after a desperate wandering finds shelter in a lonely house in the woods where a deadly danger awaits him.
• "Beyond Eternity" - A vital part of the Cthulhu mythology, exploring the themes of immortal physical horror, forbidden legends, and the disturbing possibility that monsters from the myths might exist in the modern world.

Howard P. Lovecraft (1890-1937) is an American writer, considered one of the most significant writers of supernatural fiction and horror of the twentieth century.
