"Life Is a Novel" is a complex, maze-like story in which every time the characters think they have finally found the right direction, they end up in a dead end.

A terrible incident happens to the famous writer Flora Conway, who lives secluded, away from the media, with her three-year-old daughter Carrie. One day, during their usual game of hide-and-seek in their sixth-floor apartment in Brooklyn, the girl mysteriously disappears. The police find no clues and the case is closed. After long months of anxious waiting and strange coincidences, the grief-stricken Flora begins to suspect that behind this whole story is someone who has created the crime down to the last detail and who manipulates her like a puppeteer – a puppet. She decides to find him, whatever it costs her. At the same time, across the ocean in Paris, suffering from flu and painful lack of inspiration due to the turmoil in his personal and family life, the acclaimed novelist Romain Ozorski sits shocked in front of his computer screen, suddenly realizing that fiction has become more real to him than life itself. Then his fate strangely crosses that of Flora Conway.
