Herta and Georg were once a beautiful couple. After they leave the GDR and go to the West, a happy future opens up before them. However, their hopes quickly turn to ashes and become their opposite. What breaks their love?

Gert Loschütz was born in 1946 in the former GDR, but when he was nine years old his family moved to the Federal Republic. After graduating from high school in 1966, he went to Berlin and studied history, sociology and journalism there. In 1968 he was invited to the annual meeting of the legendary Group 47 at Dobřich Castle (Czechoslovakia), but because of the invasion of the Warsaw Pact troops it failed. Since 1971 he s a freelance writer. He writes prose, poetry and drama.
